Philip Mario Dandrea Sr. MISSOULA - Philip Mario Dandrea Sr. peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, surrounded by his daughters. Phil was born in St. Paul, Minn., on July 29, 1930. He convinced his mother at the age of 1 to move to Missoula. He graduated from Missoula County High School, where he excelled at basketball and football and was known as "The Greek." He married Phyllis Toner on Jan. 29, 1951, and to their union were born five children. He served in the U.S. Army from June 6, 1951, to June 7, 1953. Phil worked for 30 years at Mountain Bell and AT&T. After he retired he appointed himself "Boss" over his daughters at the Flor-Haven Personal Care Home, a family business his mother started in 1955. He often said it was the most work he ever did! He enjoyed fishing, where he and his "secret lure" claimed the biggest fish, whether it was his catch or not. He liked bird hunting with his son, Rocky, and hunting with his many good friends. Phil woke joyfully every day and passed that joy to everyone he encountered. As a Grandpa he enjoyed Christmas mornings surrounded by a large, loud and bustling family. Dad now joins in heaven his son, Philip "Rocky" Dandrea; his parents Dominic and Florence Dandrea; his brother-in-law, Del Guinn; and his best friend, Art Stelling. He is survived by his longtime companion, Wanda Broeker and sons; the mother of his children, Phyllis Dandrea; his sister, Marie Guinn; and his four daughters, Marcy and her husband Don Juel, Kate and her husband Tom Senrud, Jan and her husband David Overbaugh and Lisa and her husband Dan Ducharme. Phil will also be remembered and loved by his grandchildren, Phil and Eric Senrud, Carly Dandrea, Justin and Jessica Juel, Jasmin Overbaugh and Laura Lake Ducharme. He is survived by his nieces, Lindy Plakke and Brenda Guinn, their children, Kelly Plakke and Daniel Guinn-Combs, and a large extended Italian family in St. Paul. Dad, thank you for your warm brown eyes, your wit, all the kissing and giggling, and most of all your unconditional love. We'll take it from here. Salude Pops! A public viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Livingston-Malletta & Geraghty Funeral Home. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Missoula Bible Church, 4455 Highway 10 W.
